Daern let out a small chuckle as he nodded to Lena's words. "I am sworn to the House and its needs. I practically breathe to serve you and Lord Luthor." Daern began, turning to look at Lena as they continued closer, the House coming more and more into view. "Rest is easily caught up in the long and warm days. Besides, " he began, his voice getting lower. "Who hasn't nodded off during prayers once or twice?"he ended with a small smile.
As they got closer Daern turned to the guard trailing behind them and motioned for a few to ride up ahead and let them know of her approach. As they rode nearer Daern asked Lena, "When will you be letting the rest of the House know about your current condition?"
"I don't think I've been awake for the entirety of evening prayers in my life." Lena chuckled. She let her hair fall around her shoulders gently as she spoke the cool morning hair was kept out by the thick raven locks.
"I should like to wait a bit longer before telling the entire house about it." She said her voice rather thin. "I don't want word reaching any one who isn't with us until we've decided with out a doubt what to do about this ... condition." She said noting they were now on the path back towards the Eyrie. It wouldn't be very long now until they reached the tall and beautiful castle with it's many terraces and large windows perfect for letting in light and warmth but terrible for keeping warm in the oncoming winter.
Daern let out a little chuckle as Lena mentioned evening prayers. "Well perhaps in your on-coming condition it can get us both out of evening prayers half the time." Daern said with a wink over her. Her let out another smile as he nodded his agreement at her other words. "Well the second you want the word out, send notice to me immediately. I would also prefer to be there when you and Lord Luthor decide upon who the paternal part of the child shall be." Daern said, almost sternly. He knew that Luthor would not hesitate to be the father. Daern would not want that however, he had heard the rumors of the Lannister twins.
As they neared castle approach Daern led the way towards the stables. Giving his reigns to the stable hand he slid off of the horse with ease, casting his eyes over at Lena. He worried a touch about the on coming moons of when her belly would swell. Riding upon a horse would not be as easy.
Carefully Lena slid down off of her horse with the assistance of the stable boy, she was careful not to let her silk shirt press to tightly against her skin so as not to show of the tiny little bump she was carrying. Lena had never been concerned with self image but then again she'd never had to be. She was young and firm and no matter how much she ate she was out running, fighting, riding and swimming enough to keep her self trim and fit. Now though she was worried about people seeing what looked like a bought of eating to frequently. She had noticed in the past few days her ladies maid had made mention of her growing contently plump since returning the Eyrie, though Luthor and Daern had both been complaining she wasn't eating enough.
"Maester Daern thank you for the pleasure of your company today." Lena informed as they strode out of the stable. "Your council and your kindness always clears my mind of anxiety." She said putting her hand to her forehead for a moment of expression.

Daern mimicked the Lady of House Arryn as a stable hand took his horse. He fell into step beside his close friend, his head bowed as they spoke. "Anytime you are in need of my company you merely need to send for me milady." Daern said softly as they stopped for a moment. He noticed the way she laid her hand on his head. It was all he could do to not take her to his check room and practically study for the babe till it came. He bit his tongue however and instead placed a hand on her back, urging her to make walk.
His leaned close, his voice low from the on-coming ears no one ever seemed to escape from. "As wearisome as it may seem, you must not show signs of weakness and exhaustion. The liars and cheats will be watching you. They already have a small hint and assumption that you and Luthor have a romance. Do not let them think that you are with his babe. Just wait a time and slowly fall into your Lady's duties. Play your mourning and long and drawn out." Daern suggested as they made for the Main Hall.
Upon reaching a the staircase made for his quarters he looked at Lena one last time. "Stay true of your heart, milady. And remember, as high as honor." he said before slipping up the stairs to the comfort of his warm living area.
