Name: Alaric Creyon
Age: 18
Place of Birth: Silvershield
Current Place of Residence: Silvershield
House: House & Overlord House House Creyon, sworn to house Lannister
Family: Father: Lord Edwynn Creyon. 60 years of age, weakened and incapacitated with age and sickness.
Mother: Aceline Elton, 51. Still with health.
Brother: Alistair Creyon, 21, heir apparent.
Sister: Nadine Creyond. She is 15, and is alive.
Uncle: Richard Creyon. He is probably still alive, joined the night's watch.
Cousin: Faramir Creyon, son of Richard Creyon. Alive 18
Appearance:
Garb: More often than not, Alaric is dressed in a chainmail coat for protection. A woolen undershirt is worn under the chainmail to prevent chafing and pinching from the metal ringlets. To hide the chainmail and it's telltale sound, the young knight wears a heavy dark doublet of fine cloth. He dresses in sober colors of greys, dark blues and blacks. His family's crest, a white stallion, stands out in stark contrast. He wears padded breeches and sturdy boots. When not in the field he has a small wardrobe of court appropriate attire, dark hued surcoats with silver or pearl studs. He also dons rings he has taken from defeated foes as well as a family signet ring.
Height: 6'0
Weight: 200 pounds
Personality: Unlike his elder brother, Alaric is brazen and rash. He lacks to courtly subtleties and courtesy that his elder brother exhibits. While his borther is calm, cool collected and restrained in thoughts and actions, Alaric acts quickly, decisively and on impulse. He is devoted to his family, or at least, devoted to the family name and increasing it's prestige. Alaric's emotions sometimes get the best of him and oft get him in trouble with the neighbors, incidents that his elder brother must set right, earning Alaric some animosity from Alistair. As a knight he has said his vows and prays to the Warrior for strength. He is eager for glory and being the second son of a minor house leaves him with few oppurtunities. He is also a bit paranoid and as such he keeps sword and dirk on hand and is found dressed in armor most of the time.

Weapons: Alaric, an ordained knight has trained with the various weapons of Westeros. His education has been balanced through his years as a squire and is proficient with most weapons. However, during a fight with an outlaw band from across the narrow sea as a squire, he came across a man weilding a falchion. Young Alaric stabbed the outlaw through the thigh and claimed the falchion as his own by beheading the man in a single stroke. The heavy, single sided blade is used in conjunction with a shield. The falchion is Alaric's primary weapon and can be found belted to his hip.
Armour: A long coat of chainmail is worn during times of peace or when the need demands swift movement or action. He also posseses a simple and unordained suit of plate armor, somewhat dented from the tourney field. It is of average quality and it is a prized possession, being the second son he is lucky to have a suit at all.
Skills: A booming voice and fiery, pure emotions can rally his household guard and the smallfolk to action. His brave words and brave actions inspire those around him.
While his brother was tutored by his father and groomed for lordship, Alaric was trained as a knight to be the sword of the family. Heavier and more muscled than his brother, Alaric wields his heavy flachion with deadly efficiency, blocking with shields and cleaving with the weighted blade. In tourney's he prefers the melee. His tutelage under Ser Prestor was baptism by fire, fighting outlaws and pirates that threatened the gold mines of the Westernlands. Therefore, he learned his combat skills upon the field, not the training grounds and as such he is a deadly fighter, but lacks the professionalism of jousting the other subtleties of more privelleged knights.
When compared to his elder brother Alistair and his cousin Faramir, Alaric is the strongest of the three Creyons. He favors brute force and aggressive, sweeping strikes with his falchion instead of the traditional stabs and motions of traditional westerosi short and longswords. He would be considered an expert swordsman, with a unique fighting style. His large sword, large shield and strength make him a terror on the battlefield, however he would suffer in single combat against more experienced and duel oriented knights. In the chaos and carnage of a battlefield he would more oft than not prevail over many other knights as they are buffetted with screams, distractions and fatigue. However in duels of honor or a fight in good conditions with little distraction, the technical prowess and skill of other knights would give him cause for alarm.
Of martial skills he met his challenges with the experience gained from years upon the field, training with sword shield and mount to defeat the enemies of the West. He is no tourney knight and would not win much honor from a joust where subtleties, precise training and long hours at the stilt lead to victory. He is more aggresive, but perhaps less precise and strategic than his fellow knights who had the oppurtunity to be castle trained.
Weaknesses: His rash actions, compelled by impulse and emotion can be his greatest weakness. Alaric is more willing to charge against enemies with sword in hand, then refrain and plan. He is in contrast to his more levelheaded brother and some have called him foolhardy. He lacks the tact and political savvy that lordlings need and are expected to have.
History: Alaric was born as the second son to Lord Edwynn Creyon, three years after his elder brother Alistair and 3 years before his sister Nadine. His father a lesser noble of a new house was a proud and noble man. He had elevated the family name to almost respectable levels and sired two sons to complete his dream of an honorable family. Alaric's mother was in her day a beautiful woman from the free cities and raised Alaric, like she raised Alistair, without much help from a wet nurse. This intimate relationship has led alaric to love her most of all his family.
As he grew he was always following his elder brother and trying to emulate him. The age difference of three years left an almost unassailible gap during their early years and Alistair was often annoyed by Alaric and Alaric in turn, was hurt by his brother's aloofness and apparent favoritism.
The favoritism became more apparent and the second son soon felt the burden of the title. His father's time and energy was spent molding Alistair into the next lord of Silvershields. Alaric was pushed aside by both his father and his mother, his mother taking responsibility for young Nadine's womanly education.
Alaric was squired not to Torin Lannister like his brother, but was instead dumped upon Ser Prester Forley a decent enough knight, but no Torin Lannister. His brother, serving one of the most revered men of the era learned the finese and finer points of knighthood from a champion, Alaric spent his day marching and gaining hsi knowledge from the field. He spent the next years of his life from the age of 11-17 serving Prester as squire, away from home, serving at their castle at Feastfires. His time away from his family and in the service of Prester had him develop a mentallity and creed of his own. Being stationed at the westernmost part of the westernlands they oft defended the famous and much prized Westerland gold mines from Outlaws, brigands and deserpate folk. In one of these battles at the age of 17 and nearing knighthood, he slew a Tyroshi brigand and claimed his Falchion.
When the Lannister's called their bannermen and began their march against the Riverlands, Prester Forley was at the head of a column and beside him rode Alaric. Together the kbnight and his square participated in the smashing of Marq Piper and Karl Vance's defenses and stormed into the Riverlands. It was after this battle that Alaric was finally knighted upon the battlefield. Soon after he participated in the siege of Rivverun with Ser Prestor, whom he was still very loyal and devoted too. When the Young Wolf broke the siege, Prestor ordered the retreat that saved 2,000 Westernland lives.
He continues to serve in Prestor's column and has yet to return home, though he will do so soon.

The candles in the hall flickered as the passing bodies caused a small gust. The heavily booted feet made dull and ominous thuds as they marched across the silent stones. The shadows on the wall were warped and elongated, making the man look like the shadows of death. Alaric Creyon strode through the empty hall and through a side door, followed by 3 other armed and armored young men. They were called the young men of the West, a title not without infamy. The four were all second sons of lords and without being heir to their seats were left with naught but ambition.
Alaric reached out and ran his gloved left hand along the stone wall of the hallway and for a moment he was back in his childoohd, running through, dodging the legs of the servants as he tried to follow his brother. The flashback ended quickly and he withdrew his fingers from the wall and returned his left hand to the hilt of his sword. It had been years but he still remembered the way to his father's solar. No doubt he would be alseep, yet Alaric did not care. The least his father could do now was to wake to see his son. Alaric's neutral face adopted a scowl as he continued on, approaching a large wooden door.
He slowed and raised his hand, the three other knights behind him stopped and remained quiet. Alaric strained to hear and approached the door cautiously, as he moved forward the voices became more clear... two voices... the unmistakable rasp of his father and a young, more powerful voice... His elder brother's... this had been too long in the coming... He had been away too long. He had to see his father once more before he died. Alaric raised his gauntletted fist and pounded it against the door. "Father, your son has returned home. Open your door and bid me welcome. Dear brother, your kin has returned to you."
