Theon opens his eyes but he sees nothing.. A sharp, excruciating, throbbing pain came from the back of his head. He reached back to feel his head and he felt his hair matted and crusted together. His head was sore to touch and damp with blood in some places.
“Damn them all.. aahh.. I'll kill them all.” speaking threw his teeth, the pain, and into the darkness. Remembering his speech to get his men ready for battle at Winterfell. 'They must have ransomed me for their freedom. The cowards' he thought.
'Why would they do that. We are all Ironborn and it's an honor to die in battle. But am I truly Ironborn? If I was they would not have sold me.' He took a deep breath and could taste the mildew of the room in the air. Theon still couldn't see anything except for darkness. Even placing his hand in front of his eyes he could not see them but, knew they were there. He felt around the stone floor and found a chain. Then he realized that he was bound by the ankle with this chain. As he reached for his ankle the excruciating pain from his head wound reminded him how he got here. "Aarrghh.."
Theon followed the chain from his ankle to the shackle on the wall. He tried tugging on the chain repeatedly but it would not budge. 'I must find the door to this prison' he thought. As he used his hands to feel around the stone walls the chain pulled on his leg with each step. He did come across a section of stone that felt different. It had a different pattern and was a little smoother than the rest of the wall. 'This is it' he thought. Theon placed his ear on the smooth stone as to hear anything on the other side. All he heard was silence. He rested his head on the wall for what felt like hours trying to ignore the pain from his head and waiting to hear any sound from the other side. The only sound he heard was the rumbling of his stomach.
He wondered how long he has been here. Considering hunger is just hitting him, it could have been about half a day. Theon moved to the side of where he believed the door to be. If he jailer came with food he may have a chance to surprise them. 'I dont know who they are or if they will be armed or have the keys to these chains.' thought Theon. He place his head into is hand and thought 'How did things go so wrong? If only Yara had brought the men I asked for.'
The cold stone pressed against Theon's dry skin as he lay curled up on the stone floor. His mouth was dry with barely any saliva to moisten his lips. The pain in the back of his head had been replaced with an irritation in his eyes. He still could not see anything in his dark cell. 'Is this how I die.. like a starving dog trapped in a kennel of dehydration?' he thought.
Atleast a day and a half had past since Theon had drank or eaten anything. He did not move from the stone floor in an attempt to conserve any energy he had left. Theon listen and listen for any sounds of life out side of the smooth stone he believed to be the door to his prison. His eye lids closed as he drifted of to sleep.
