Attack from the South [Siege/Open]

[Ser Uther Sand]

The Sword of the Morning was leading the forces that Dorne had put into this endeavour. They would be hitting Storm's End first and once it as secured they had a position of strength from which to attack King's Landing itself. With luck they'd be more focused on the threats to the North. After all, why worry about the people giving Stannis Baratheon a hard time?

They were not making a full on assault, instead they had arrived and stopped a safe distance from ranged assault. Defenses were being erected, ditches and palisades at the front. If they had the time they'd construct a full defensive ring. The archers had tested distance so if Storm's End were foolish enough to attempt to fight them off they could catch them as they came.

Tents were being put up too, for the Lords and Knights mostly. The Mercenary Company they were fighting with had some very fancy tents indeed for its leadership. Uther had glanced the man's wife at one point, she was most lovely. Not so lovely as Nymeria perhaps, but lovely.

The Dornish had brought over thirty thousand men for the fighting. They would be secure.

[Melis zo Reyhan]

In one of the very elaborate tents Melis Zo Reyhan was with her strategists going over the plans of attack, there were men from Dorne, there were men from the Gold Bull Legion and there were men of her own purchasing and training they would all be more than these feeble Westrosi could handle.
The tightly built woman of Yunkai was adorned in leather garments today, beneath them were flowing semi transparent skirts and about her was a cloak trimmed in fur. L'inarra had told her it would be cool in Westeros and she was glad now that she had believed her.

"How long will the siege last?" Melis asked her commander as she looked at the strategic map before them. He would have known the castle by heart by now, he'd done nothing but stare at the map since they got off the ships in Dorne. "Do they have a strong defense?"
Melis doubted that they had anything of substance to keep them at bay. As far as she'd been told a man had risen up as king here only to be killed by his own shadow, he mustn't have been very adept at being a king if his own shadow got the better of him.

[Lucifer Whitecrest]

Lord-Commander Lucifer Whitecrest was standing outside his command tent, from where he would meet with the leaders his subordinates and give command on the day to day runnings of the siege. One hand held the wrist of the other behind his back, keen eyes watching as order and discipline proved its worth. The Gods of Westeros claimed slavery was an abomination, but Lucifer wasn't going to let some musty priest stop him from making use of the Unsullied.

L'inarra was more then likely in the personal tent, towards the back of the camp where it less safe. He wound return to it at sunset but that was some hours away. Until then he would over see the defenses and preparations for the siege. Once the castle had fallen he would claim it for his own and they would use it as the launching point for an assault against King's Landing. It would all be glorious.

[Stannis Baratheon]

Ser Richard Horpe had been left at Storms End for this very moment, though, He did not expect a siege from the Dornish men. While Stannis was off in Dragonstone, he had placed Ser Richard Horpe in charge of the military affairs at Storms End. Horpe is a battle hardened man and has a lust for battle, the Dornish men wouldn't find an easy fight here. He has the skill of the kingsguard and could probably kill most of them in single combat but his dream of wearing the white cloak never came true and now he serves his liege-lord Stannis Baratheon and the one true god faithfully.

Ser Richard spied the enemy building their camps from the top of the walls of Storms End, why had they come here? Stannis was weak compared to the other kings, he had a small army on Dragonstone and an even smaller one at Storms End. But that did not matter, Storms End was formidable, its walls withstood the siege of the Storm gods, it had also withstood the siege by the Tyrells during Roberts rebellion, they had a bigger army and they also had a navy, something which these Dornish men do not have. The Tyrells tried to starve Stannis out, but with the food stores stocked for winter and the sea trade open and running, there was no way that the Dornish men could win this way. It would come down to fighting but that would be no easy task.
"Dispatch ravens to Dragonstone, inform Stannis that we are under siege, I estimate that they have 30,000 men, we have just over 7,000." Ser Richard paused as he looked over at their men working on the camps. "Send a rider to their camp, ask their commander to treat with me." The man he has spoken to had scurried off to find the Maester first to inform him about the ravens.

[Lucifer Whitecrest]

When a rider came upon the camp requesting a Commander to treat with them it was Lucifer that stepped forward. A dozen knights saddled up and rode with him when they made way to Storm's End. The Castle was nothing like the grand palace's of Qarth and while Qarth was certainly a very lovely city, this castle would outlast Qarth. It was well built.

It was hardly a far ride from the siege camp to Storm's End. Was the Lord-Commander of the Goldbull Legion, flanked by a dozen Knights a sight to behold for those within? Did they know him at all? There was a time when he had been a Lord of Westeros after all. If the 'Ser Richard' that served as Castellen thought Lucifer Whitecrest would be an easy treat because he had spent some time in Qarth he had another thing coming. If the man had any sense he would be prepared to negotiate surrender and be happy if he escaped with his dignity held high.

Once in the courtyard Lucifer and his men dismounted. He took a moment to take in the great castle from the inside. Splendid. It was certainly splendid. He would enjoy it more after he had eaten bread and salt so he was protected under guest rights.

[Ser Uther Sand]

Ser Uther like many others watched as the envoy from Storm's End arrived. It was a respected right of war to wish to speak and with any luck they wished to surrender. The Sword of the Morning took the opportunity to watch how the Essos force would respond. The army they brought had so many slaves, it was hard to stomach. Slaves were an abomination to the Seven. Every person born was free, they had committed no crime that he knew of. But Uther's hand was forced to stay, he had sworn his pledge.

But if the Yunkai woman and the exiled Lord of Westeros could make use of slaves, whom knew what else they could do? From outside his tent he was watching the construction of the defenses but in the corner of his eye he was ever watching the Goldbull Legion Commander. While it was true Lucifer Whitecrest had once been a Westeros Lord, he had long ago sold his land and keep. That he would call himself a Lord-Commander as he was as respectable as a leader of the Kingsguard was ludicrous. Of course the current Lord-Commander was Jaime Lannister, so perhaps it was not to ludicrous. But Jaime was a sworn sword of a false King, one Uther would see removed from the throne for the good of the Gods and the people.
