Name: Ser Stefan Tyrell
Age: 21
Place of Birth: Highgarden
Current Place of Residence: Highgarden
House:House Tyrell
Family:
Mace Tyrell; Father
Alerie Hightower; Mother
Willas Tyrell, Garlan Tyrell & Loras Tyrell; older brothers
Margeary Tyrell; younger sister
Aryanna Flowers; Bastard daughter (3 years of age)
Appearance:
Garb: His family is one of the richest families in the seven kingdoms, and for that reason he always wears the finest linen shirts and trousers. Usually he wears light blue, and a green cape. He also usually has his personal coat of arms, a shield with four roses, at least somewhere visible
Height: 6 feet
Weight: 145 pounds
Personality:
Stefan is a playful young man who enjoys swimming in the Mander (Or any other body of water, as long as one can swim there). He also enjoys training himself, in order to constantly be in top physical condition. He also loves the company of his family members and friends, because he trusts them and he feels comfortable with them in the capital, far away from home.
Although he doesn’t like war, he understands the necessity and will fight in it in order to make his family proud, and to do something in the hope that it might end sooner. He doesn’t like doing nothing, which is another of his reasons to fight. Stefan, much like his elder brother Garlan, does not seek glory or fame, and thus is less famous than his other brother, Ser Loras.
Likes:
Dislikes:
Weapons: Stefan generally uses a bastard sword, forged by the best blacksmith in Highgarden. Although it looks to be but a simple blade, which it is, it is more than capable of cutting a man’s head off, should the need arise.
Armour: Unlike his elder brother Loras, Stefan does not want a shiny and much decorated armor. He just has a simple, plain plate armor that gives his entire body protection. This armor was forged by the same blacksmith that also forged his sword.
Skills: As soon as he had his twelfth nameday, Stefan was sent off to squire for a knight. This knight taught him how to handle a sword, how to ride a horse and what to do in battle. In turn, Stefan cared for the knight’s horses and armor, and would sometimes bring important messages to other people. Because of this he is quite a good swordsman.
Weaknesses:
Stefan is a decent swordsman, and a decent rider as well, but those two combined are a thing Stefan just cannot do. He doesn’t know whether it is his own fault, or that Ser Dennys didn’t teach him enough. Maybe it’s just one of those things that he just can’t do, no matter how hard he tries.
History:
Stefan was born as the third child, and the third son of Mace Tyrell - The lord of Highgarden, Lord Paramount of the Reach and Warden of the South – And Alerie Hightower, the daughter of Lord Leyton Hightower of the Hightower. As he grew up, he could not be separated from his friend Jon, who was the son of one of the castellan. The two would often explore the town, or play in the lovely gardens.
That was until Stefan turned twelve, after which he was sent off to become the squire of Ser Dennys, who was a landed knight somewhere in the Riverlands. Ser Dennys treated him well, and even though Stefan was the man’s squire, over the years they grew to become friends. Ser Dennys taught Stefan what to do with a sword, and even how to ride horses. Though in turn Stefan would care for Ser Dennys’s weapons and his horses.
Just a few weeks before his eighteenth nameday, Stefan became a knight after Ser Dennys told him he was worthy of becoming a knight, and he then made his vows with the septon and the seven as his witnesses. After six long years he finally returned to his home in Highgarden.
In the next few years, not much happens. Stefan traveled across the seven kingdoms to fight in tournaments. He occasionally ended up relatively high in the standings, but usually he was defeated pretty early on. However, not long after he returned home he had a bastard child with the blacksmith’s daughter. However, his father made sure that no one but the mother (And the rest of the Tyrell family) know it is his child because if others would know, it would tarnish the reputation his family has built over the years. Before the war, Stefan participated in the tourney of the Hand, where he lost to his brother Loras fairly soon after it began.
As soon as the war began, Stefan returned home where they waited. Until his sister married Renly Baratheon of Storm’s End, and the Reach joined him when he decided to press his claim for the Iron Throne. Stefan and Loras joined the army. Loras even became the commander of Renly’s new king’s guard, the Rainbow Guard. Almost immediately after Renly was killed, Stefan joined the Tyrell host which joined Tywin Lannister and then moved for King’s Landing where they arrived just in time to save the city.
