A SONG OF ICE AND FIRE
The story begins in the unified Seven Kingdoms of Westeros as the long summer ends and winter draws near. Lord Eddard Stark is asked by his old friend, King Robert Baratheon, to serve as the Hand of the King following the death of Eddard and Robert's mentor Jon Arryn, the previous Hand. Eddard is reluctant, but after receiving intelligence suggesting that Jon was murdered. Eddard accepts Robert's offer, and plans to investigate the death of Jon Arryn using his new found position.
Viserys and Daenerys the exiled children of House Targaryen are plotting to return to Westeros and unseat the 'usurper', King Robert. To help him achieve this goal, Viserys arranges the marriage of his sister to Khal Drogo, the leader of the Dothraki people, in return for the use of his warriors in invading Westeros.
On the Nothern border of the Seven Kingdoms the sworn brothers of the Night's Watch guard the Wall, a 300-mile-long, 800 foot high colossal fortification of ice which has stood for thousands of years. The Night's Watch defends the Wall against the lawless wildlings who live beyond the wall. Rumours persist that speak of a new threat arising in the lands of perpetual winter.
A Song of Ice and Fire is an AU version of the HBO show, Game of Thrones. The overall story is the same but certain events may or may not occur. People who live may die and people who die may yet live. Where will you stand? There is no middle ground in the Game of Thrones. You win or you die
