Name: Mace Tyrell
Age: 55
Place of Birth: Highgarden
Current Place of Residence: Highgarden
House: House Tyrell
Family:
Alerie Hightower (wife), Mina Tyrell (sister), Willas, Garlan, Loras, Margaery (children)
Appearance:
Garb:
Lord Mace is fond of greens and yellows, colours that are often associated with his House. He is usually seen adorned in shirts and cloaks of these colours with suitable breaches and footwear. As a Lord however he has a wide selection of attire he can call upon at any time he needs.
Height: 6"2
Weight: 200 lbs
Personality:
Mace Tyrell is a man past his prime in many regards but to underestimate him would still be a mistake. He is proud and tedious which when combined can prove him to be quite dangerous even today, especially considering the power he wields.
As a Lord he might be growing inept but he is also a father. Mace Tyrell loves his children and wife dearly, his people too. While pride makes some men more interested in their own idea's and opinions then others, Mace takes pride from the wise decisions and talents of those around him, primarily his family but also his close friends and constant supporters, such as Randyll Tarly.
Likes:
Dislikes:
Weapons: Lord Mace rarely personally engages in combat anymore, but in the event that he does he'll usually wield
Armour: Lord Mace Tyrell's plate armour no longer fits him, in the event he needs to fight he is usually adorned in a suit of chain and hardened leathers.
Skills:
High Marshal of The Reach: "Lord" Mace Tyrell is not only a Lord, he is Warden of the South & Defender of the Marches. These titles require an individual who is a warrior & a Commander of men. Lord Mace is both a warrior and a commander but as far as Lords go he's among the least talented, superior to Robert Arryn by leagues but otherwise rather lacking.
As far as things go, his talent could be described as very moderate. He is however perhaps the most talented figurehead in all the Seven Kingdoms with individuals like Loras Tyrell & Randyll Tarly to support him.
Weaknesses:
Less among peers: As stated above, Mace is one of the least dangerous Lords in the Realms, personally that is. Only a fool would challenge the power of The Reach. While his support is significant in talent, age has made him less of what he used to be...be it with battlefield tactics or politics. While back in his younger days he was a powerful man, like Robert Baratheon age has turned muscle to fat and his reflexes have been dulled.
History:
Mace Tyrell was born in Highgarden over half a century ago, the only son of Lord Luthor Tyrell he was always heir to the high seat of The Reach. As a young man he was sent to squire so that he might learn matters of combat and humility before returning home and in time becoming Lord, for his father believe a wise Lord knew when it was best to draw a sword and when it was best to kneel. He would never complete being a squire in the traditional means however, Lord Luthor Tyrell while hawking rode off a cliff and plummeted to his death, Mace returned home and took to the High seat of The Reach, he quickly married Alerie Hightower whom he had been betrothed to in younger years. She would mother several children, all of whom made fine sons and daughters.
As it would happen the years would be kind to the young Lord. The Reach had enough coin and power to give him breathing room and the finest soldier in all of Westeros, Randyll Tarly was a loyal and eager supporter. During Robert's Rebellion Lord Mace made his single finest act of military command by putting Storm's End of Siege for the best part of a year. After Randyll Tarly had defeated Robert Baratheon at the battle of Ashford, Lord Mace advanced and neutralised Stannis for the latter part of the war. The Siege would stand until the war ended.
Lord Mace Tyrell returned to The Reach and has been ruling his Kingdom since then.
