Adelaide Baratheon was sitting in a large chair in the private Solar she shared with her husband. Her head resting in her hands and a letter from her brother in her hands. Stannis was making a move for the crown, she she knew this would happen, knew this day would come she had recently visited Dragon Stone to hear his plans.
Surly this would mean dark days for Westeros. The son of Ned Stark rose up in the north to take the north as his kingdom, Joffrey upon his throne infuriated every one from his own mother to his peasant subjects. Stannis was throwing his lot in as the true king and who knew who would rise up next. The Greyjoys most likely, they'd take any chance they had to win himself a crown.
It was enough to worry even the most stable lords and ladies. Which was why Adelaide was having such a time with this. What should Storm's End's next move be? Of course she would side with her brother especially if his claims of Joffrey's birth were true, but if they were not? Was she making the right choice?
Duncan was adorned in simple white cloth, very humble. Tunic and trousers of faded white with small golden ornamentation, a ring upon the small finger of one hand and a chain of gold around his neck. In one hand he held a cup of honeyed milk which he sipped at casually. "Your brother is not the most agreeable nor popular man, but I have never known him to be a liar. His claims are true, I'm sure of it." Stannis was a man of character and integrity, almost to a fault. He obeyed the laws of the land and upheld tradition.
In the end the decision of what to do was down to Lady Adelaide and nobody else and while Duncan would give council, he would stand with her regardless of her situation. He was an adviser but he was also her husband and tried to give both duties equal respect.

When Duncan entered the solar Adelaide looked up at him him her face looking drained. "Then there is only one course of action to take. We must stand with Stannis, he is the rightful King." In her mind Adelaide had already made this choice, but she needed to hear it from Duncan as well. That he believed Stanis as much as she did.
Setting the letter on the desk beside her Adelaide stood and made her way to her husband's side taking the honeyed milk from his hand and taking a sip for herself. "I wish you had been there for the meeting with Stannis, and Mace... I could have used your strength." Leaning closer Adelaide put her forehead on her husband's shoulder.
