Calm Before the Storm (Melis/Lucifer)

[L'inarra Whitecrest]

-TAKING PLACE ON A BOAT-

L'inarra shuddered slightly as she wrapped her thin linen closer about her. It was near see through and the dress she was wearing wasn't helping either. She took to a long dark green silk dress, the sleeves split up to the shoulders. A long golden bracelet started from below her elbow to her wrist,long endless script detailed into it. A thing circlet of gold and emeralds laid itself on her neck. Her fierce hair was piled atop her head, loose curls framing her face and base of the neck. Giving another shudder she pulled the linen wrap tighter about her. When she awoke Lucifer's place beside her was empty. She set about to getting herself ready, her servants helping her.

She now found herself walking the deck of the boat, other people busy with making sure they set their course. She had yet to meet the infamous Melis Zo'Reyen. She hadn't even truly seen Lucifer and their trip just began. He had no doubt probably been busy with the soldiers. She did rather enjoy watching him mold the men into strong and rigid soldiers. She wandered the ship further, marveling at the sight of it. Giving a low sigh she took a deep breath, the sea air coating her as she looked at the wide spread blue around her.

The ship provided to Melis Zo Reyhan was a splendor to behold. Every plank, board, mast, rudder, and beam was the finest materials money could buy, the cabins were like palace rooms with broad soft beds, the finest dinner wares and carved walls with depictions of lavish scenes of the court of a harpy woman much like the harpy emblem of Yunkai's city.
Melis Zo Reyhan her self was just as much a splendor in her golden clothes and long silks. Rarely had she stepped out onto the deck but today she decided would be a good day to the let the sun drink in her beauty.

The young woman stepped out of the chamber bellow and looked around the deck, men working every where, her slaves were behind her ready to serve but for now she was not in need of them, they were just to wait until she did. Standing on the deck was another woman, a bit older than herself but with striking features and pale white skin, Melis strode forward to her with the familiarity of a Nobel to his most prized new slave.
"I hear rumor you are the wife of my Commander, Lucifer." She said not bothering to face the woman. Breeze covered them both in the scent of seafoam and salt but Melis was also covered in oils and other delightful perfumes she refused to be like the other men hear and reek of salt and sweat.

The dark skinned woman clad in gold immediately caught L'inarra's eye. She was surrounded by her various slaves, L'inarra was intrigued. She was even more startled when the woman approached her and spoke to her. L'inarra's eyes opened wide as a smile tugged at her lips. "Oh yes. I am L'inarra Whitcrest. Lucifer is indeed my husband. Though he seems to have simply disappeared this morning. He was gone when I awoke." she said as she glanced across the wide deck. Suddenly it kicked into L'inarra who this was.

The woman had said my Commander. Which could only mean that this was the infamous Melis Zo Reyhan. She gave a quick nod at the woman before her, knowing of her importance. "Madame Zo Reyhan I presume?" L'inarra said with a welcoming smile as she clasped her hands before her.

The woman with the fire red hair knew her. That was good, her commander at least had the sense to let his woman know who was in charge.
"I am." Melis's accented voice said with a gentle smile taking L'inarra's head bow in consideration. As she clasped her hands before her Melis watched the woman's shape and face she'd make an excellent bed slave if she had been just any woman on the ship Melis might make opportunity of that once they got to port, the coin she could fetch for those breasts, and those pouting lips, but alas she was the wife of her commander, and he'd stop working if he was to relieve him of his most prized possession.

"I am afraid I am the reason your husband has left the warmth of your side." Melis said turning her gaze to the sea, a far less tempting target. "We have been prepping for how our land fall should be, how we should mask so many ships coming to port."
It would be glorious if they could arrive as gods reclaiming this great kingdom, but alas they must come like death, stealthy in the night.

L'inarra's smile grew as Melis confirmed her identity. At her next words she shook her head in understanding. Truth be told, talk of war strategies was over L'inarra's head. Since she had been married to Lucifer she had heard more than she could bear. She plastered a smile on her face however and nodded her head in agreement at appropriate times. Shuddering the wrap closer about her she took in Melis' slaves. They seemed very attentive and stern. She was sure not a moment went by that they did not know what the young lady wanted.

"Well perhaps you will accept my company in my husbands stead?" L'inarra ventured, hoping to pass some time on the ship. She found the idea of ships fascinating, however now being on one for two days, she found that she was indeed bored, and craving for some social interaction that didn't involve talking to her servants. "You'll find that you can embrace your gentle and fairer side with me as opposed to my husband. I will actually laugh and smile." she said with a small chuckle as the wind took to her curls again.

"Then smile you must darling L'inarra, a beauty like your self must always be appeased." Melis said with her most kind voice, nodding her head towards the woman before her Melis directed the man to stand behind the woman blocking some of the sea spray from her. Unfortunately no amount of bulky slaves could block all of the ocean's mist from coating ether of the women with it's brine like spray.

"Perhaps we could retire to the command deck and have some refreshment." Melis said in an tone almost asking, but she wasn't asking or requesting. Melis had enough resources that she'd never had to ask for a think in her life; she made demands and decrees, occasionally she used a tone that implied she was friendly but never did she ask.
Where or not L'inarra joined her or not on the upper most deck of the ship beneath her command canopy a light breakfast was being laid, it was entirely up to L'inarra to offend the Yunkai noble or not.

A small blush crept up L'inarra's cheeks as her eyes flew downwards. Her shoulders shrugged together as the wrap slowly fell from her shoulders, one hand moving to her cheek, feeling the warmth on her face. She noted the slave move to stand behind her, blocking some of the spray. Her eyes widened as she looked from him to Melis and nodded her thanks, her smile widening.

"I think I would like that very much milady." L'inarra said, another bowing nod in her direction. "Where is this command deck laid out at? I'm afraid I don't have a head for direction or ship design. Put a fine glass of wine in front of me however and I am the best company you have ever had." she said with a giggle as she fell into step beside Melis, leading the way to their new surroundings. "Do you suppose the Lucifer will know where to find me when he is finished with his duties?" L'inarra asked, looking behind her.

The corners of the Yunkai woman's lips twisted into a smile as she offered the top of her hand to L'inarra to be lightly rested upon. "I would be surprised if your husband was not already there." The woman said moving towards the aft part of the ship, upward towards the large wheel used for steering the ship. "I'd be surprised dearest if your husband was not already there, pouring over maps and shouting orders at his men."

They ascended the stairs and found that the food was already laid out along with wine. "I hope your claim is true lady L'inarra, I could use some company on this voyage, some of the men are so dull." She said taking her seat and motioning for the red haired woman to do the same.
Wine was poured for both of them and the elaborate spread of breads and fruits and other things that would perish if not eaten by the wealthiest of those on the ship.

L'inarra daintly placed her hand on Melis' considerably darker one. Truth be told, she felt a little strange pairing with a woman but she supposed that out of courtesy she should oblige. When they reached the table a small gasp escaped her lips. "Why it's so much!" she stated, a hand flying to her collarbone. As she sat she graced a smile at Melis "I don't make empty claims milady. Of course I shall stay by your side. Anything you need, merely let me know." she said with a warm voice as she comforted into her seat.

Reaching for her glass of wine, L'inarra took a delicate sip, loving the taste and vector of it. "How have the days been treating you? I hope my husbands brash personality has not come off too strong towards you. It's an endearing quality." L'narra assured her, sipping off of her wine, her eyes on Melis.

The two were seated comfortably and Melis sipped the wine that was poured for her. She was pleased by the tart bouquet it presented; the drink would go well wit the spread before them. "Your husband, my lady, has been the most charming of company. Though he tries to put up such a hard exterior I can see that he is a man of many talents beyond the sword. He shall do well to win us our prizes in Westeros."

Setting down her goblet of wine L'inara looked across again at the woman before her. "Your emeralds are very exquisite, though I must say you seem like you'd be a woman who should be dripping in gold, I have a necklace in my chambers, rubies, garnets, onyx all inland into an intricate weaving of gold. It would suit your throat most nicely, perhaps you should wear it at the state dinner before we make land."
There would only be one state dinner then every man would be at his work stations until they arrived but Melis knew there would be much feasting once they arrived in Dorne.

"Oh yes, Lucifer is quite the husband. He's the very backbone of everything I live for." L'inarra gushed as she leaned forward. A small blush crept up on her cheeks as she talked of her dear husband. "And our children are the spitting image of him! Our dear little son has been so yearning to come to war with his father. I am terrified of the day that Lucifer will say yes one day." L'inarra prattled on as she sipped on her wine again, loving the taste of it.

Her eyes grew wide as Melis mentioned jewelry. It was a fond love of L'inarra's, that was no hidden fact. "Oh dear, I feel as if I am imposing." L'inarra said as she looked over at the younger girl before her. "However, I would never want to offend milady." she said in a soft voice as her eyes lowered, her fingers on the stem of the glass, fingering the design on it. "I would love to see it however." the want heavy on her voice.

"You are not imposing, my dear." Melis gave her best warm smile, it wasn't very warm, it was more a smoldering gaze, she hadn't been a warm person in her entire life. "I offered, after our luncheon I'll show you."
It was decided a trip bellow to see sparkling jewels, what woman wouldn't accept? Melis certainly knew she was weak in the knees for all things that cost more than a human life was worth. After all who wouldn't be?

Continuing her drinking and eating Melis found her appetite sated, and waited patiently for dear L'inarra to be ready. She watched the men working as she did, they were ever so diligent in their work and it meant that they'd be ever so diligent in their fighting. The unsullied Melis didn't have to worry about, but it was Lucifer's men she was unsure of. Sellswords could be bought just as easily as she had purchased their services, she'd have to keep them interested once they landed on Westros' shore, and the copious amounts of money she was pouring down their throats would do just the job, but for Lucifer she intended to put the honey on his ear by way of his darling little wife.

"You are quite generous to show me such things my Lady" L'inarra said with a small giggle. Looking back up to meet Melis' eyes she was struck still. The gaze the younger woman gave made her feel nigh naked. Once hand moved to L'inarra's throat as she broke the stare, looking as a servant poured more wine.

Taking a long draught, L'inarra picked nimbly at the fruits laid before her, choosing to not over eat in any sense. She had been on a ship once before and she knew that over eating was a paid for crime.

"You are so kind to accompany me on this day. I fear that I'd be rather bored wandering from one end to the other." she said with a small giggle as she looked over at Melis again. "What did you have planned for today Lady Melis?" L'inarra asked, sitting back, finished with her eating, only sipping on the wine.

Watching as the slender necked woman beside her ate and drank until she was satisfied Melis sipped her wine carefully until her cup was empty, a slave made her way over to fill it again but Melis shooed her away.
"After this mornings briefings on where we are and how long it shall take to arrive in Dorne I have nothing to do save plan for the state dinner this evening." As if demonstrating how bored she was she picked up one of the tresses off of her should and began to examine the gold bead at it's end. It was a marvelously crafted piece.

Leaning forward some across the table Melis smiled at her luncheon partner. "Perhaps you can help me decide what to wear? I am certain a woman of your style would be very knowledgeable of what I should try to keep in favor with your husband and his crew?" In all honesty Melis knew that it didn't matter what she wore as long as she paid them, she could sit naked while being fucked by a strapping young slave and they'd all act as if she was as prim and proper as their daughters back home; that's what gold did for a man.

L'inarra's eyes lit up at the proposal. A wide smile graced her face as she said, "I would absolutely love every moment of that." She reveled in the wine again, happiness seeming to gain on every moment of her. It made L'inarra wonder however. Lucifer had said that Melis was brutal an hearty. Why the young lady seemed kind, fashionable, and outright pleasant. It was just like Lucifer to push L'inarra away from the only other woman aboard the ship however.

Setting down her glass, she brushed some of her curls away from her neck, looking over Melis' current attire. "You do have such a stylish wardrobe my Lady." L'inarra said, looking at the bead Melis was fingering now. "I take it you favor the golds and silvers?" she said with a small smile on her plush lips as she sampled a grape once more.
